I’m so excited to bring you another shiny guest post today, while I’m off cramming NASM info into my brain and quietly hyperventilating. (Slight exaggeration. Only slight.)
This one’s from one of the sweetest girls I’ve met through blogging: Katie!
Katie and I live in the same city, but we had to go all the way to Minnesota for the Healthy Living Summit to actually meet in person for the first time.
Makes sense, right?
Katie’s a wellness coordinator (luckyyyy!) and writes an amazing health and fitness blog of her own (seriously, here’s another link so you can go check it out right now)—plus, possibly most importantly, she shares my appreciation for a nice, tasty beer (Wisconsin FTW!). Back when I was raving about this strawberry beer I discovered in Boston, Katie was kind enough to help me track down some local establishments that carried it. Now that’s a cool girl.
We’ve been planning to get together in town for monnntthsss now, and although it hasn’t happened yet, I have my eye on you, girl. (In a friendly, normal-person way.)
So with that unnecessarily long intro, I’ll turn you over to Katie!
Hey there Healthy Nest readers, my name is Katie from Daily Cup of Kate and I am so excited to be guest posting on Kim’s blog today. I also live in Madison, so Kim’s blog was one of the first local blogs I started reading once I actually started blogging myself. I quickly fell in love with her style of writing, sense of humor, and her ability to have a full time job, run around after adorable Mason AND come up with amazing blog posts day after day. Seriously, you rock my socks, Kim!
So, I guess my blog is categorized under “healthy living” because I talk a lot about my running and workouts as well as share some healthy(ish) recipes now and then.
But realistically, some days I sleep in and skip a workout, half of the things I cook don’t turn out the first (or second) time and I drink too much beer and wine on the weekends.
Anyway, the main reason I started blogging back in April was to share my love of fitness and workouts with other readers. Every Friday I like to post a new workout that usually requires little to no equipment, can be done in the comfort of your own home and usually lasts about 30 minutes or less. Because, lets face it, in the winter time the last thing I want to do is head to the gym in the freeeezing cold.
Today I thought I’d share a fun and festive workout with you that only requires a set of dumbbells–although soup cans, water bottles, an exercise band, or heck, even a baby would work too! Get creative!
This fun workout goes by super fast but gets your heart rate pumping! (I hope Kim approves of this workout now that she is a soon to be NASM Certified Personal Trainer and all.) You can find more workouts just like this over on my blog under the fitness tab.
Thanks for allowing me to interrupt your regularly scheduled programming and have a great weekend you guys!
