Hey there friends!
First things first: the winner of the Ava Anderson giveaway is Lindsay! Check your email. :)
So, you wanna see some beach pics?
As I write this, we only have a few hours left before we have to check out of our resort. Womp womp. It’s been a wonderful trip, but to be perfectly honest, thinking about leaving gives me this kinda-sad-but-also-pretty-relieved feeling.
Let’s just say that traveling with Mason was about as hard as I expected—times 100. The kid just plain hates to be out of his comfort zone, sleeping in a different bed and straying from his routine. So he was kind of a mess for big chunks of the week.
The first night, he went to bed normally (somehow) but then woke up at midnight and DID NOT GO BACK TO SLEEP until about 5:30 AM. This was after a full day of traveling (including getting up at 4 AM for our early morning flight), so I was already barely able to pronounce my name before I lost an entire night’s sleep. Yay vacation!
The next two nights were better, but he’s been getting up at 5:30 every morning, taking unimpressive naps, and generally having a low tolerance for beach activities.
Except for the “push the stroller around the pool area” game, which was a huge hit.
Anyway, I don’t mean to paint this horrible picture. We actually did have a very nice, relaxing vacation—it’s absolutely beautiful here, our condo is comfortable and nicely decorated, and the resort restaurant makes a mean fish taco.
I just wanted to give you a little context before launching you into this picture-perfect photo album, so you get the full picture of what this trip has been like (and hopefully won’t hate me quite as much). Plus, I guess the challenges of the week are still a little raw.
I’ll be back next week with a full recap of the trip + more pictures, but here are a few snapshots for now!
This is probably my favorite picture from the whole trip: the little dude seeing the ocean for the first time.
He was not very interested in the whole jumping-in-the-waves thing at first, but by day 2, he was running into them on his own, giggling hysterically.
An evening beach stroll…
That’s it for now! More to come. :)
For now, wish us luck on the daunting task of flying home later today…yiiiikes…
