Body After Bump

I had no idea what to expect from my body after giving birth. Because women’s bodies are all so different, I didn’t want to set any goals or plans for getting my body back before knowing how my body would react to the change.

I know I need to make sure my body is fully healed before diving back into an exercise regimen of some sort, but I’m already getting excited! On a whim, I snagged another of Jillian’s DVDs at Target yesterday (during the first blissful outing I took by myself since Mason arrived!):

Lots of my fav bloggers (such as Gina and Caitlin) have mentioned/reviewed this DVD, and I’ve heard nothing but compliments!

Anyway. Today, 10 days after giving birth, the changes I’m seeing so far are astonishing. It’s so amazing what our bodies can do! Pregnancy is just incredible.


Here’s me at 38 weeks (sadly, I just realized I didn’t take any photos of the last two weeks…I guess it was just getting to that “I’m huge–you get the idea” point):

It’s funny because I thought I looked SO SMALL here!!! The change in only 3 days was already startling.

Of course, if you could see my actual stomach, you’d find that I still have plenty of stretch marks, loose skin around my belly button, and a super-thick dark line down my stomach. But I’ll take what I can get!

And yes, I’ve been wearing the same black yoga pants pretty much daily since giving birth. And I feel no shame.
