I feel like all I ever do these days is pack. I shouldn’t complain, because the packing has led to going cool places and doing fun things, but I’m pretty sure it’s one of my least favorite activities on this earth.
So here I am, (over)packing again. We’re hitting the road in a few hours on our way to the Healthy Living Summit! (Well, Brent’s not going, obviously, but he’s taking advantage of the fact that I have to be in the cities to hang out with his buddies there.)
Technically, we’ll be on our way to my in-laws’ first. We’re staying there tonight and then leaving the little dude with Grandma for the weekend.
Thanks for all your encouragement about my interview yesterday! Here’s the dorky “first day of school” picture I asked Brent to take on my way out:
All fresh and ready to learn! Ha.
I thought the interview went pretty well, despite my tendency to get overexcited and blubbery during interviews. (I think, at one point, I accidentally described myself as both introverted and extroverted…what?)
Anyway, they’re interviewing through the end of the month, so now we wait. And we research daycares, just in case. (cue: fear! anxiety! stress!)
I’m definitely feeling the turn in the weather today (60’s right now, vs. the 90’s we’ve been seeing), and I have to say I can’t complain. Even though I’m a complete summer girl, and I’d happily skip over winter every single time, fall is always a welcome treat.
Especially when you consider how cute little boy jeans are.
I was excited to discover that most of his pants from last year still fit—actually, they finally fit. He was dragging pant legs around all last winter, poor little short stack.
Speaking of our poor kid, this is what he looked like at 11 PM last night:
Hanging in mom and dad’s bed with a makeshift phone stand for Mickey Mouse viewing. (The one time I feel zero guilt about letting him watch shows is when he’s sick. All other times, I feel miniscule amounts of guilt—haha.)
It’s just a cold, but he’s pretty miserable. Praying that it clears up asap so he’s not a mess for Grandma this weekend!
Well, I better get back to the pack job…my suitcase is filled to the Brim (capital B), which means I should be able to cram about 14 more things in, easily.
I’ll try to do some blogging over the weekend, to keep you up to date on the conference happenings, but I don’t want to make any big promises (there will of course be a recap or two next week). However, I will definitely be doing lots of tweeting, so make sure you’re following me @healthy_nest!
I’ve been asked to live tweet two particular sessions on Saturday:
–Blogs in Transition (9:15-10)
–The Organized Blogger (11:15-12)
So tune in then for some FREEEEE insider info and blogging tips from Alicia, Julie, and Heather! (Can’t believe I will be meeting them IN PERSON! Starstruck…)
I’ll also try to get some Instagram action going (healthy_nest). But promise you won’t hate me too much when you see how awesome everything is.
Later!
xo, K
