It Snowed.

Whew! We’re *almost* on the other side of the Epic Blizzard.

I haven’t heard the official report yet, but I think we got something like 17 inches of snow today.

I kept thinking of the swirling newspapers at the beginning of Rudolph:

snow rudolphThe heck is the Sanitation Army??

I know some of you aren’t as well-versed in the drama of a true Midwest blizzard, so I made you a little photo montage to give you an idea of what we’re dealing with here…

SnowFull disclosure: the pic of Mason was actually from a few days ago…as you can tell by the weak dusting of snow on the deck.

Super Snow  Ha, just kidding. I doctored this one up in PicMonkey with the Snowfall effect. But to be fair, it really did look like that for most of the day! Just hard to capture on camera…

I even did a time lapse for you through the sliding doors to our deck (trusty balsamic bottle included for size reference) to give you an idea of how we got to 17 inches of the white stuff.

Here’s how much had accumulated by 10 AM…

Here’s 12 PM…

2 PM…

And, finally, 6 PM…

(Oh, and please disregard the nasty discoloration on the floor-that’s been there since we moved in and I have no idea what it’s from or how to get rid of it…?? Suggestions are welcome.)

Here’s another time lapse of the deck chairs. I wish I’d started earlier-it was already so dramatic by 10 AM.

10 AM…

12 PM…

2 PM…

It’s days like these that make me so, so thankful that I got married…

Brent plowed the driveway twice, and then went out a third time to help some guy get his car unstuck from the middle of the road (where he absolutely HAD to go in a full-on blizzard, we’ll never know).

Schools are still closed around here tomorrow, so it’s pretty awesome to be a kid in Wisconsin right now. I just hope the roads are in good enough shape for us to make it out of town for Christmas on Saturday!

How’s the weather where you are right now?

Wait…don’t answer that.

If you live in Florida, what are your thoughts on taking in a temporary house guest (+ a 9-month-old)?

I am totally feeling your pain here too. I had to trudge through all the snow to walk to work yesterday morning, then shovel a few times at work to keep the sidewalk open. It was a workout! Luckily we live in an apartment, so no plowing or shoveling at home. :) First snowstorm for us since moving back to WI from FL in August… rude awakening! LOL

Ooh, that must be a tough transition! Well, fingers crossed it won’t get any worse than this!

Oh I am so jealous! I want a big snow storm! Here in northern Minnesota we are getting just wind and none of the fun.
