Truth: I’m totally starved for blogging right now. I had a really nice week of vacation, with barely any blogging activity, but I’m surprised how much I missed it.
And you should see the number of emails I sent myself over that week with ideas of things I want to write about. Ha! I guess that’s how you know you’re doing the right thing?
Anyway. Normal blogging activity starts full-force tomorrow, but I wanted to stop in today just to prove to you that I can actually take a reasonable number of pictures at a family event. (Unlike this time.)
Here are some shots from Christmas #2, at my in-laws:
Mason with cousin Pete! Only two weeks apart. (And yes, that’s Ferris Bueller in the background. A fine Christmas classic.)
Both boys got new books–this 100 First Words book (complete with tons and tons of flaps to open and close) was a huge hit.
I mean–HUGE.
They also each got matching basketball hoops from Grandma and Grandpa. Pretty appropriate, since both their dads are avid players. (AND THE BOYS BETTER BE TOO!! Just kidding.)
There was also a vast assortment of cars and trains, naturally. I seriously don’t get how boys are all hardwired to love vehicles. And what did pre-20th century toddlers do??
The standard Grandma-with-the-boys shot:
(Notice how they’re both clutching a random toy? Ha.)
Brent’s birthday is January 4, so we always end up sorta-celebrating it over the holidays. Poor guy. I feel bad for anyone with late December/early January birthdays. I also feel bad for their spouses, who try to plan birthday parties during a time when everyone is super busy and unavailable. (Haha.)
B’s cake request was the best-ever raspberry pretzel cream cheese dessert (similar to this).
He also got this amazing gift from his thoughtful sister and bro-in-law: 30 beers for 30 years!
They individually picked 30 different bottles of beer from a specialty store for him. Is that insane or what? Also, we now have way, way too much beer in our household…please come over and help us drink it.
I ended up coming down with a nasty cold on Friday, which left me basically strapped to the couch for 2 days straight (I always forget how horrible colds can be!), but the weather was SO nice (um, relatively speaking) that a family walk was a must.
Mason boycotted Grandma’s stroller halfway through for a legit walk. When he got tired, he demanded to be carried, of course. Strollers are for losers.
Yesterday morning, I went on a run for Bruegger’s bagels for the family–haven’t had them in SO long! By noon, we were packed up and out the door, ready to head home after 5 full days away.
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas! Now, on to New Year’s…what’s on your agenda??
See you tomorrow for some REAL, ACTUAL blogging!

Aww thanks Natasha!
I gave Scott 26 beers for his 26th birthday, ha! I will gladly come over and help you drink some :)

Oh that’s hilarious!!! Ha! :)
There are a lot of dark/heavy beers, so I hope you’re into that… (I’m not excited about 95% of them, to be honest!) :)
Wow – that beer gift is awesome – I might have to copy for my husband’s next B-day (except he will need 46!!).

Haha! Maybe half a beer for every year?
I always say grocery carts are for losers… Hunter hates sitting in them, so half the time I end up holding him and pushing the cart while trying to get food I need. I’m sure I look like a hot mess roaming the grocery store aisles.

Oh my gosh, I get stressed out just picturing that. 1000 Mom Points to you! :)
Luke also loves any book with flaps. . . and trains. .. and cars. ;) I love the shot with the boys with Grandma. Too cute!!
Yeah, we have a habit of getting a picture of her with them every time we’re all together. We probably have 20ish at this point. Maybe someday we can make a giant flipbook! :)
