What a weekend. The weather was absolutely insane (in a good way!) and this kid was in heaven.
(This is what he does anytime he hears someone say “HOORAY!”)
Saturday morning, I headed downtown to help promote the Madison Mini Marathon at a wellness expo. (I’ve been on the marketing team for a few years, just helping out with random expos and some flyering…mostly, it’s a good excuse to check out expos, haha.)
There was a really random hodgepodge of vendors there, plus a fitness challenge with prizes and LOTS of free food. (Coffee and bagels in the morning, subs and fruit/veggies in the afternoon.)
We even got a (really blurry) picture taken with Bucky!
One other perk of being a vendor at an expo: free stuff at the end!
A nice guy from Klarbrunn shared a few of his leftovers. I’d never had this stuff before, and wow, it is AMAZING! I really couldn’t believe it was zero cals.
The rest of the weekend was all about hanging with the little dude. He’s still totally into Thomas the train, and we got him a Thomas movie for his birthday that he’s OBSESSED with.
I was loving taking pics of the all the different positions he watches in:
I mean, upside down??
He can’t say “Thomas” yet but has invented his own replacement word: “Ying-yay.” So both mornings he woke up and ran straight to the TV yelling “Ying-yay! Ying-yay!” Ha! How did he come up with that??
I was also following him around documenting all the different places he drives his trains throughout the house. Like it’s a whole different experience on a couch vs. window sill.
Last Friday, I came home to a nice little surprise from PopSugar:
I wore that thing ALLLL weekend long. The inside is super soft and comfortable, and my ratty old University of Wisconsin sweatshirt with the not-there-when-I-bought-it thumb holes could use a break.
The only downside is that it’s a size small, so while the sleeves are a perfect length right now, I’m scared of what a wash will do to them.
Oh, and there’s the problem of my growing stomach…
But I still love it. Thanks PS! It’s such an honor to be part of the team.
Oh, and of course we went outside. Like, a lot.
Best kid toy purchase ever: this lawnmower.
Poor kid loves to shovel things, and has tons of shovels from our beach trip last year, but no more of that white stuff in the yard to shovel. We really need a sandbox.
For now, he’s making due with the tiny rocks at the park.
And, in pure desperation, I set him up with a bag of dirt and a bucket at home, and got him started on some pointless transferring.
He LOVED it.
Well, that’s it for me! See you tomorrow for the big gender reveal for baby #2! :)
How was your weekend?
